Gunmen break into Swiss diplomat’s residence in Libya

Unidentified gunmen stormed the residence of the Swiss ambassador in the Libyan capital Tripoli on Friday, according to a security source.

“A number of gunmen stormed the resident of Irvine Hoover, Swiss ambassador to Libya, in Ben Ashour area, a
high-end neighborhoods in the capital Tripoli,” the source told the Xinhua on condition of anonymity.

“Shortly after raiding the diplomat’s house, which is free of its occupants, a security force headed towards the location of the house, forcing the attackers to leave quickly after causing a mess in the house,” the source added.

The diplomatic mission of Switzerland left the capital Tripoli in July along with other foreign missions in the city after the attack of Libya Dawn forces on Tripoli International Airport, and the deterioration of the security situation.
